The new exhibition centre, stadium and MTRC station at Chek Lap Kok has been developed by AsiaWorld-Expo. This is the result of a public/private partnership in Hong Kong and, on 21 February Scott Mackenzie, GM of AsiaWorld-Expo and Jean Pierre Lefoul, Director of Building Works at Dragages will tell us how the varoius phases were managed from Policy Support in 2001 to opening in 2005.

In 2003 the APM Partnering SIG launched the Partnering Guidelines. They were very well received and the following year the SIG prepared the 2004 Update – Making Conventional Construction Contracts “Partnering Friendly”.



At this event the SIG will present another Update on “Procurement and the Partnering Philosophy”, which reviews how some of the major procurement approaches available can be coupled with Partnering to deliver success to clients. In addition, the SIG will launch several new Case Studies on leading Partnering projects in Hong Kong. SIG members will speak at the event as follows :

FIDIC contracts have been published for nearly half a century, and have become widely used around the World, including in our region. In May 2005 FIDIC published its Construction Contract Multilateral Development Bank (MDB) Harmonised Edition. It is expected to be the Standard Bidding Document for projects funded by, among others:
Asian Development Bank
International Bank for Reconstruction & Development (World Bank)

The Institution of Civil Engineers, Hong Kong Association offer an integrated programme covering the four principal FIDIC contract forms, including the MDB variant.
